I Stand All Amazed is a hymn written by Charles H Gabriel in 1905. It is said that Charles wrote between 7000-8000 songs, many of which are available in hymnbooks of many religions today.
Music Method
Here is a link to the original hymn found on page 193 of the Church of Latter-day Saints hymnbook for you to download.
I have created a simplified arrangement for this song. If you or your pianist need to eliminate those 4 flats found in the original hymn, this arrangement will help. It also lowers the singing range. Here is a video to practice with.

A Few Tips for Teaching
This hymn would be a great opportunity to start with the end rather than the beginning( one of my favorite things to do). The chorus is the most repeated part, so if the children can master that, then success is always celebrated after working through those verses!
This song has a great rhythm! I will be teaching this song with rhythm sticks. I will have them sit on the floor. They will hit three steady counts on the floor for the words, “Oh it is”. Then they will cross the sticks and tap them together for the “wonderful” rhythm. They will hold the sticks straight up for the words, “that he should” then back to the cross and tap for “care for me” and etc to the end. Here is your rhythm pattern:
(chorus) Quarter/half: tap steady on the ground
Dotted eighth/sixteenth: cross and tap
eighth: hold sticks straight up
(verses)Quarter notes/half: tap steady on the ground (maybe out-in-in pattern”
Dotted eighth/sixteenth: Cross and tap

I will use these coloring pages as a reward for hard work in learning all the words of the verse. They will be sent home to color, hopefully to help practice the song on their own and with their family.
