Hymn 1024
I Have Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Download a copy here.
This is a wonderful hymn by Janice Kapp Perry, written in 2007. It is a very simple tune with 2 verses and a bridge (or second ending) to the final line of “I have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.” This simple statement can be a great foundation of a testimony.
You can watch a video of this song here. This might aid in your learning and practice.
Music Method
I love this hymn because the melody is played in the accompaniment. This makes teaching and singing along with this very easy for everyone!
This would be a fun song to work on holding out a note. There are 4 long FAITH words. You could teach them about watching the conductor for the hold and cut off.
A Few Tips For Teaching
I plan on teaching the verses in a circle form. I will hang the first verse pictures in the 12 o’clock position, 4 o’clock position, and 8 o’clock position and place an arrow between, showing what direction to go.
The blue burst will always be the words “I have faith”. The pictures of Jesus will remind them to sing “Lord, Jesus Christ”.
This is what my board will look like for each verse and bridge.
