Gospel Teaching
One of the most sung songs in Primary is “I Feel My Savior’s Love.” The song testifies about the love of our Savior Jesus Christ for all of Heavenly Father’s children, and also stands as a reminder of how we can feel our Savior’s love. It can be felt during times of peace and comfort, as well as in times of trouble and distress.
Here are 3 truths you could teach about our Savior’s love as you teach this song.
- “In all the world around me” Jesus Christ created the heavens and the earth under the direction of Heavenly Father. The Creation is an important part of Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation, with the Atonement of Jesus Christ at its center. Everything in the world shows that God loves us. These creations are proof of His infinite power. If He can create an enormous mountain range or an ocean, then He has the power to help us in our time of need.
- “When I kneel to pray” Joseph Smith, at 14 years old, went in search of answers and prayed to determine which church was true. He saw and heard from God the Father and Jesus Christ. In the Sacred Grove, Joseph’s prayer was answered. Have you found your own Sacred Grove where you can pray to your Heavenly Father and have your prayers answered?
- “Offer Him my heart” Sister Neill F Marriott in one of her talks said, “In order to have a healed and faithful heart, we must first allow it to break before the Lord. “Ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit,” the Lord declares. When our hearts are broken, we are completely open to the Spirit of God and recognize our dependence on Him for all that we have and all that we are.

Visual Aids
Your primary children have probably heard this song many times, so you’ll probably just want to sing it many times to reinforce the words. A great way to repeat this song is to use your magic paintbrush. You can provide small paintbrushes or use imaginary ones. Here is a link to order bulk paintbrushes from Amazon. Place the design for the children to draw in the air under the phrase. Have the children draw while they sing the phrase. You can repeat the phrase as they choose another color to draw the design in the air.
As the children learn the words, remove the flipchart and only leave the images to draw.
