This is one of my very favorite songs to teach. The original music was written by Kamie Jacobs Bolen. She did a wonderful job on this music. It has the exact words of 1st Nephi 3:7, which is a wonderful scripture for everyone to memorize, and as you know, music is the best way to memorize! The second verse of this song offers the option of a descant. I have found that primary children pick up on this fast and it is very fun to sing.
My reason for writing an arrangement for this is that the piano part is quite difficult to play and my pianist for my primary was struggling. She could play most of it but was not able to get the speed up. I realized that many pianists might struggle with the original, so I wrote this simplified version to help with those concerns.
